The house was built around 1910 by Leonard Sharrer on the site of an old taven and oyster saloon. It was a Sears mail order kit and Sharrer built it himself.
Leonard Sharrer was a member of the Sharrer family that owned a general store on First Street in Liverpool.
Dr. Robert Hagen and his family moved into the house in 1927. It was noted that he charged $2 for an office visit and $3 for a house call.
